I have been going to your dealership in Maplewood since last December. Before that, I always had my service done in Burnsville. The last few times I have come in for oil changes a gentleman by the name of Stu has helped me.

 

Stu has always greeted me with a friendly smile and explained any concerns or questions I had on my car in a way I could understand, such as regarding any recalls that were on my car.

 

I have worked in customer service for many years myself and when I receive great customer service I think that person deserves to be acknowledged for it as it so often goes un-noticed and un-appreciated.

 

I have continued going to Maplewood Toyota for my oil changes only because of the friendly atmosphere and customer service I have received and I just wanted to let you know this. At the other dealership, I didn't that type of service and it really does make a difference in where a person takes their business.

Great Service

"Better Than I Expected"

I brought my 2001 4Runner in for service today. I needed a new battery, new antenna, oil change, tire rotation, and some other little stuff done. Since my car is ten years old and has 115K miles on it I assumed there were going to be other issues that needed to be fixed; that I would be lucky if I didn't have to spend more than $800; and that I would be there for four or five hours. In the end, I was there for less than two hours, I spent far less than I expected (about $300), and you guys fixed what needed to be fixed, but didn't try to sell me anything I didn't really need. Everyone was very professional, too. I know that dealerships tend to get a bad rep for service, and at most dealerships I've been to, that rep is somewhat warranted. You guys are definitely an exception to that. Your service department is doing a great job...

"Finest Experience in Purchasing in Over 40 years!"

My wife Kim and I have just returned home with a new 2010 Toyota Venza from Maplewood Toyota, Maplewood, MN.  This is our first Toyota, and was our first meeting with the Toyota Maplewood "Team".

A week ago Saturday we were "walk-ons" to the delaership, having simply stopped by Maplewood Toyota to pick up a Venza brochure on the way home from a visit to their neighboring Subaru dealership where a few years ago we took delivery on our last new Subaru, a vehicle purchased directly through the "VIP Program" of a Vice President of Subaru of America.  That vehicle was our second new Subaru purchased through their executives' "VIP program".

While we were contemplating what color our new 2011 Subaru Outlook would be, we thought of "piece of mind" to have a look at the Venza that as been having excellent reports.

You know enough of about the Venza.

You may not, however, know enough about the people at Maplewood Toyota.

In brief, our experience viewing and eventually purchasing the Venza that now sits in our driveway was the finest experience we have had purchasing vehicles in over forty years.  From the very first contact with Kate McGlynn, Internet Sales Manager, to our debriefing by Debbie Ingebretson of the Maplewood sales division -- sending us on our way in a new vehicle about which we actually knew little other than the technical information -- the Maplewood "Team" and its operations were of the highest professional level.

A.J. Altaher, Finance Manager, and David Rikess, Internet Marketing Manager, could not possibly have been more helpful.

In brief, in the end, it was actually Kate McGlynn, Debbie Ingebretson, A.J. Altaher, and David Rikess who really made us feel like VIPs.

For the record, I should add that we are not related to anyone associated with Maplewood Toyota, and prior to this week did not actually know much more than Maplewood Toyota existed.


"You Outshine the Rest "

I want to take the time to respond to your card about my recent visit to Maplewood Toyota. I purchased my Avalon at Maplewood after a short search online, and basically I got the best price, and the handling of the matter was very satisfactory.  Shortly after I took delivery, I had several problems with the car, and they were fixed by your folks.  They were all structural, and several required subcontracting.  I am a rather fussy customer, and I am sure the original service writer, Steve Edmunds, was exasperated by my complaints, but, he responded to assuage my concerns.  That was almost 90,000 miles ago. Since then, I have had the car in Tucson, Arizona at a big distributor, and I realized what a great place Maplewood Toyota is.  I call back to ask Steve for advice when I am in Arizona, and make sure that I do as much as possible here.  That is because I trust your shop and especialy Steve, and know that you will do it right and at a fair price! 

While waiting for a ride the other morning while my car was being serviced, I noticed the wonderful diversity of your customer base. A few old white duffers like me were there, several liberal looking ladies were working on their computers, several black folks were waiting for their cars to be finished (including a good looking 6'5" guy with a computer, an MRP with earphones, his cellphone and his Blackberry all working in front of him)  and the Hmong newspaper was included in the literature available for whiling away the waiting time.  I suspect that you intentionally treat people of all backgrounds like you treat me, and that brings them in and back to your business.  Would that everyone had the same approach.  I do not know if you are making any money (I hope you are) with your approach to business, but I suspect that you would run it the same way whatever the financial results.  Thank you for being a really good place to do business, and a most realiable Toyota Dealer.  You outshine the rest!

"Completely Blown Away"

Dear Andy

Just wanted to let you know that I had my appointment yesterday to get the recalls fix on my Beautiful Beautiful Camry.
My appointment was for 3:20 pm and was told about a two hour deal.
I had my daughter pick me up from Maplewood Toyota so I could get some other things done and by the time I got back home, my Camry was already done. I was completely blown away on the fast turn around time and was thrilled when I picked it - you guys washed my car!
What a fantastic surprise! Thank You for such a great experience in your service department, I have never ever had that before.
I have always, in the past, cringed at the thought of taking my vehicle into the service department, yet again. 18 repairs on the 2 year old Chrysler Pacifica, ugh! My previous car dealership, Chrysler Barnett, never washed my car, and the wait to get my car back was always over shot by 45 minutes to one hour. I always had believed that they lost my vehicle somewhere in the mess of the service bays! Please let your Service Department know that they did an awesome job and that they have a customer who is most appreciative and believes in them.

"Just Wanted to Say Thanks"

Hi, I understand that you are the general manager of this dealership. Just wanted to let you know that I had really great customer service there in your service department on Saturday. I had just had my RAV 4 serviced at my local dealership in Ashland WI , (30,000 mile services) and took a trip to Msp the following day. Had a bizzare issue , water first dripping, then sort of "flowing" into the front passenger side of the car...ended up with the whole front floor of the car soaking wet by the time I got to your dealership. I explained this to the nice young man in your service dept, and he got permission to take it right in to look at it , (even though it was very busy in the service dept that day) as he thought he knew immediately what the problem was, and that it would be a quick and easy fix. 15 minutes later I was back on the road, problem fixed. It was a plugged air conditioner hose. So just wanted to say thanks, and hope my experience is as good when I take it back into the Ashland dealership on Mon to see if they will help with the drying out, clean up mess of it!

"Extremely Pleasant & Professional"

Hi Mike-
I just wanted to pass a quick note you could potentially share with the staff at your office. My wife just picked up the Sequoia last night after bringing it back in to have the final touches put on it. The vehicle looks outstanding as promised. We both appreciate the service and delivery. I have to say my past experience in buying used vehicles has not been great. In the past 15 years this was the best experience I have had. Wessy was a great sales guy to work with (extra effort to get the deposit...extremely pleasant and responsive) A very nice guy in general! You were one of the first reasonable sales managers I have dealt with...extremely pleasant and professional. I appreciate you looking to work a deal fair to both parties. In the past my experience has been...unless it is a huge benefit on the dealers end...the deal does not get done...or it is brutal to get it done. In addition, most dealers are high pressure... and big time commitment. This was smooth, and time efficient. We received fair offers on both trades and sales price of the truck. We are extremely happy we chose Maplewood Toyota. Initially I spoke with AJ in the finance department. He was top notch, extremely professional. When I signed out it was with Seth...equally responsive and professional. He did an outstanding job. He passed on professional courtesy with the cost of the warranty at the closing. All great people to work with... up front, honest, and professional. Lastly, I dealt with Jeff in the service department. Followed up with me daily on status ensuring all issues were taken care of. Excellent service and delivery skills. Please pass on the personal thanks to Wessy, AJ, Seth, and Jeff...yourself included. Typically when you have 5 different people involved you find a weak link or two. In this case everyone I dealt with was excellent and did their part at high level, exceeding expectations! Bad news for the competition as you have increased my level of expectation when buying a vehicle!! Please pass on the thanks...we will be back again for our next purchase. I was at a convention in downtown Minneapolis and had left early to make the 6-hour drive to my home when the "check engine" light came on.  I was very nervous.  My husband found you on the Internet and guided me to your doors. At 8:30 a.m. your waiting room was full and I expected a long wait.  Instead, I goT the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever received at any dealership! From the kind woman at the cashier's desk who encouraged me to "drive right in to the service bay", to the gentleman who took my information in service, I was treated with respect and compassion.  Each time my service manager made a time promise, it was actually less than half of that time.  I was in awe and amazement to have my car diagnosed and fixed within one hour of arriving without an appointment. As I walked up to my fixed car my jaw dropped to see that it even had been washed.  No kidding, I teared up. If I thought it reasonable to drive six hours to have my car serviced, I would come to you every time.

"Maplewood Deserves Their Awards"

My husband and I purchased a 2010 Toyota Prius from Maplewood Toyota in late July through the CARS program. We love the car and it's features! I want to thank you and your coworkers for the excellant customer service we were given throughout the purchase process.
Your salesman Scott T. was outstanding. I sent an internet pricing request to all the twin cities Toyota dealers requesting pricing for a 2010 Prius with specific model and color requests. I also asked if they had the car in stock or were willing to find one for us and if they would hold the car with deposit until the CARS program started. The callbacks were quite interesting. All the dealers eventually contacted me but Scott was the first who truly wanted to find the right car for us. He called me the first moring stating yes to my requests and called me two days later with the info that the car was now on the lot and waiting for us. Since it was several weeks until the program was effective, he was willing to arrange for us to "visit" our new Prius and gave us a ride around the lot. Later, Scott was thorough in completing the paperwork and off we went with our new car.
We appreciate the Hybrid new owner night clinic. The numerous tips were helpful and the show and tell with Prius on the lift was very helpful. It didn't hurt that we won a free oil change! Now we just received the letter and $200 check representing the scrap value of the car we turned in. Scott told us previously, we may reeive additional funds on the scrap value but we were dubious at best.
We saw the awards your dealership has won when we were there and you deserve all of them. It is well worth the drive from Plymouth to purchase the car through Maplewood Toyota. You can be sure that we have told many others of our pleasureable experience and hope many of them will purchase a car from your dealership in the future as will we.

"First Brand New Car"

I would just like to write and express my deep appreciation and gratitude for putting me behind the wheel of my first brand new car. Thank you for your willingness to work with me when other car dealers wouldn't. The car buying experience at Maplewood Toyota was painless and hustle free.
I was in a state of shock and had to pinch myself when you offered to sell me a new car. I almost fell off my chair when you asked me which color and what body style I wanted. This has never happend to me before. I'm usually in a position where I take what I can get.
You followed up to see how I was enjoying my new car. My last car purchase was at Tousley Ford. When those guys got through with me, I felt like I had been rodded at gun point. After singing for a Taurus and taking it home; I brought the car back the next day to address some driveability concerns. I was insulted, told there was nothing wrong with my car and practically run out of the dealership. It took me almost three weeks to get Tousley to make repairs on my "certified" vehicle.
I have taken a lot ribbing and teasing about buying a Yaris. Friends and family ask me, "Are you crazy!, Don't you watch the news?" Or, "You gave up the big Ford for that little asain econbox." My favorite comment is from one of my coworkers who says my car looks like a tonka toy and tells me to buy a "real car" next time.
Well, I have every confidence that I have made the right decision in purchasing this vehicle. If anything goes wrong, I know that Toyota will fix it. The gas mileage is unbelieveable. I looked up the reviews for this car. It has been described as efficent, reliable and bulletproof.
I still tear up when I get into my car to drive it. My little girl loves the car, too. You guys not only sold me a car, you made my dream come true.
I wish your dealership and Toyota the best. Again, you have my heartfelt appreciation and thanks.

"Great Service Department"

Again today I was reminded of what a great service department you have and why I like your dealership. When putting new license plates on my 2004 Highlander I had problems getting one of the bolts out of the license plate holder. I ended up twisting the head of the bolt off. I really did not want to drill that bolt out myself and screw something up, so I took the car into your dealership, where I have all the maintenance done on my highlander and my tacoma truck. Within an hour I had my license plate on, I had coffee and donuts, my car was washed and the best part was that you did that without charge. You people understand customer service and that is why I will be back to buy my next toyota from you and why you do the maintenance on both my cars.

"Once Again, You Have Met My High Expectations"

Please be sure this email gets to the techs and service coordinator who serviced my truck and me last nite from about 4 to 6:30. I was in such a hurry, I forgot my social graces. Thanks to the service tech who found the nail in the tire, causing a slow leak! You saved me from a huge head ache and from a potential big problem as I have a long commute for work every day. If I would have gotten a flat during the early part of rush hour, it would have been more than an inconvenience. Thank you for the attention to detail. The service coordinator appeared to feel bad that it took so long to complete the oil change, maintenance inspection, and fix the tire. Please be sure to tell him that I appreciate very much his efforts to service my Tacoma, that I'd rather be waiting inside where it's warm than out in the cold with a broken truck. Once again, you have met my high expectations, causing me to continue to be a repeat customer.

I read a nice review about Amy Parkin at Maplewood Toyota (MT) and called her. I'm glad I did. As MT's Internet representative, she introduced me to a terrific team who worked together as a team to take care of me. Amy, Kate (who worked with Amy), Bill Morris (my salesperson), Mark Figenshaw (my finance person), another fellow who handled the critical habitat license plate, and others who worked behind the scenes treated me with dignity and respect and helped me feel like I was part of the team. They took the time to get to know me and what I needed. There were a few blips during the process (we're talking about buying a used car here) and that's when I was glad a good team was working with me. I had a horrendous schedule, and Bill and Amy helped me out. The first car I was interested in sold before I could get to the dealership but Amy found something that worked even better for me. It was certified, which was important to me. As a used car, it had a few things to take care of, and Bill took care of them. I was glad to drive home with the work done and my plates in place. No running around. Just smiling. I would buy from MT again; I would recommend this team to my family and friends. Thank you, Team MT. Best wishes all who may read this for a good experience. If you go to Maplewood Toyota, ask for Keith Vincent. He's a down-to-earth guy that looks out for your needs above his commission. Overall, everyone I met there was very friendly and helpful. I went in for a used car and ended up leasing a new one which is something I never thought I would do but it made financial sense.

The salesman was very knowledgable about the product. I had done some research on line yet he still pointed out some good selling points. He was not pushy, yet still available for questions. He kept telling me that I could do whatever I wanted as far as payments with either a lease or buying out right. He was true to his word. I had the best car buying experience ever. I was on the road with my new car in about an hour after I decided exactly what I wanted. I left feeling that i got a great deal without having to haggle or any of the typical car dealer stereo types. I had my 16 year old son along for the experience and I think it was a good one. Maplewood Toyota sets the standard. I will tell all my friends.

I was very impressed with Ms Parkin the internet sales person that I had been corresponding with via the internet for approximately 2 months. I told her that my lease was up in September and was in the market for another RAV 4. I had been doing some comparison shopping. I had several items that I would not compromise on and wanted to make more reasonable payments. Ms Parkin called me to see how I was doing and we discussed another RAV 4. She was NEVER pushy, which I greatly appreciated. I spoke with a sales person in Rochester about my desire for a new RAV 4. After getting information from Rochester Toyota, I called Amy and asked her if she would be able to match the price and specifications on the RAV in Rochester. We spent about 1 hour on the phone discussing my options. She was able to find a new 2010 RAV 4 with the options that I wanted and more. We did most of the paper work over the phone. I was able to go to Maplewood Toyota and drive off the lot in approximately an hour. There were no surprise hidden costs. I worked with Deb and a finance guy (whose name I can't remember). Everyone was curteous and respectful. I will certainly recommend Maplewood Toyota to others in the market for a Toyota. I've been a Toyota customer for nearly 20 years. This was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had in re-leasing a car.

I purchased a 2007 Toyota Yaris from Jim at Maplewood Toyota. The entire process was very smooth. I had wanted to trade in my previous Toyota but due to the high miles and required maintenance, they could not take the car for trade-in, because of this Jim knocked off a few hundred dollars from the price of the car, that was helpful for me considering I had to go through the hassle of getting rid of the old vehicle and paying for the insurance while I decided what to do with it.

Jim was very courteous and responded to me very quickly with all the questions I had. After I took the car home, I noticed a squeek due to a belt, I called Jim right away and he advised that I could take the car in anytime Monday-Friday until midnight and Saturday until 9pm (I think) and have it looked at and fixed. This did not cost me a dime and was a very quick process.

I also had trouble with a sticky key, I stopped by another night and they offered to cut me a new key from the VIN, unfortunately the computers were down and I have to go back but I trust it will be a quick in and out. I plan to do all my maintenance at the Toyota Dealership because they are very efficient and organized. I feel that I am in good hands with Toyota Scion of Maplewood.

Bought a used 2006 Toyota Prius and it's exactly what I was looking for, and the value (price & features) was the best in the Metro and Outer ring dealerships. Lincoln was the first to respond to my web inquiry of all the dealerships. He made himself available when I was available to look at vehicles. They were ready to be seen when I showed up, the same cannot be said for a few of the dealerships. It was a really good buying experience.

Bought a used 2006 Matrix and it's exactly what I was looking for. The price was lower than a few others I looked at and the excellent condition of the vehicle along with the fact that it was certified made up for any concerns I had.
